Message from the Director of Sarawak Marine Department
Greetings and Welcome to the Sarawak Marine Department Web Page.
As we move further into the new millennium the more we will rely on the use of computers in our daily work. This is well realised by the Sarawak Marine Department. As such the Department together with our counter part in Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah will continue to develop computer based systems for the benefit of our clients when dealing with the Department. All these are done in order to achieve a service standard that is both effective and efficient where clients will not have to wait long or spend considerable amount of time when dealing with the Sarawak Marine Department.
The Department is also well aware that the usage of IT is essential in introducing the functions and roles of the Department throughout Malaysia and the world. Even more so for our clients in Sarawak, which is the single largest State in Malaysia. The Department is of the opinion that IT can be used as an important tool to promote safety awareness to all the operators and users of the water transportation system in Sarawak.
As such, the Department gives great emphasis towards the development and preparation of the Sarawak Marine Department Web Page. Beginning from this the Sarawak Marine Department Web Page will be frequently updated with information that is of great use to all its clients. The upgrading of information in the Department's Web Page will be done in phases until all the set targets have been met. It is our hope that through the Department's Web Page the shipping community will be able to obtain all the necessary information relating to the Department's services and about shipping in general.
In relation to the above, the Department trusts that by promoting the Department's image more effectively and widely, the community as a whole will be more aware and appreciative of safety of water transportation. Towards this end this Web Page is an excellent and effective opportunity for the Department to achieve that objective.
